CATALOGUE 3 ~ Concentrates on images which are specifically architectural - namely the North Staffordshire towns of Hanley, Burslem, Longton, Newcastle and Stafford, with a flavour of its industry. That industry is, of course, the world famous Stoke on Trent potteries, with the Wedgwood factory of Etruria featured in three of Forster's pictures.

Old Burslem the mother town of the Potteries. A brewer's dray begins the day's deliveries with a clatter of horseshoes sparking the cobble stones in the sunlit square beneath the town hall clock. Heavy with barrelled ale from from Parker's Burslem Brewery it stops under the sign of the "Bunch of Grapes" Public House.

The splendour that was Trentham Hall ancestral home of the Dukes of Sutherland, built around 1840 in the Italian style it was used as a residence by the family until 1905.
